MAGNETIC PARTICLE INSPECTION (MPI)

Magnetic Particle Inspection (MPI) is a highly effective and cost-efficient NDT method used to detect surface and near-surface discontinuities in ferromagnetic materials. This technique is particularly valuable for identifying flaws that are too small to be seen with the naked eye. We apply a magnetic field to the material, causing any surface-breaking or slightly subsurface flaws to create a local magnetic flux leakage field. This leakage attracts finely-ground iron particles, which cluster around the flaw, producing a visible indication that our certified inspectors can easily interpret.

Why MPI is Essential for Your Assets

Cost-Effectiveness: MPI provides a rapid and reliable method for flaw detection, making it an extremely cost-effective choice for a wide range of components.

High Sensitivity: This method is highly sensitive and can detect even minute cracks, seams, laps, and other discontinuities, ensuring a high degree of confidence in the integrity of your materials.

Versatility: MPI is a go-to method for inspecting welds, castings, forgings, and other critical components, providing a quick and accurate assessment of their condition.

By using MPI, we help you proactively identify and address potential issues, preventing minor defects from escalating into major failures and ensuring the long-term safety and reliability of your operations.
